The Finnish word for the northern lights, or aurora borealis. They are glowing displays caused by charged particles from the sun meeting the upper atmosphere, and northern Finland is a popular place to watch them. No one can promise a sighting, because it depends on solar activity and clear, dark skies. Staying several nights and remaining flexible improves your chances without guaranteeing anything.
